There's 32GB of G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3000MHz memory, a 1TB Samsung 960 Pro PCIe NVMe M.2 boot SSD, a second of the same drive, and a huge 6TB hard drive. The dual Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti graphics cards, seated with liquid-cooling plates, are a main feature of the showcase. The system is clearly assembled with care, and there are very few DIY fans out there who can match this level of work. You can see where much of the cost comes from by merely looking through the window. Inside, there's intricate liquid-cooling piping (officially, Origin Cryogenic Stage III Hard Line liquid cooling with crimson coolant), remote-controlled case lighting, and excellently organized cable management. The eye-catching interior of our configuration is beautiful, viewable through two tempered glass doors, which swing open with ease and latch magnetically. This unit also weighs 40 pounds as configured, so hopefully you only have to move it once, as it's not exactly a lightweight. The case measures 25.26 by 9.75 by 24.8 inches (HWD), so look away now if you simply don't have the room. In buying the Genesis you're going all out for power and size, a showpiece system that's meant to be seen as much as it is meant to run your games extremely well. There's no getting around it: This is a big desktop. Look instead to the Origin Neuron, a much cleaner and accessible build, or the Velocity Micro Raptor Z95 (2017). If you configure a more reasonably priced model it's a solid pick, but at the high-end, the case feels cheap for a $9,000 PC. Yet, design shortcomings make it difficult to wholeheartedly recommend. Performance is as good as you'd expect, benchmarking as one of the fastest systems we've tested. It's a prohibitively expensive desktop with the best parts. The high-end build of the new Genesis (starts at $1,674 $8,801 as tested) gaming desktop we're reviewing here is no different. Origin's systems are highly configurable, with plenty pushing the boundaries with cutting-edge components. Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software.
